Colors, Fonts, Language, and Text Direction for AI

Visual choices provide AI with a unified foundation for the entire new template. Furthermore, the language and text direction help construct the preview to match your future visitors.

What you will learn

  • Select a palette based on brand identity and readability.
  • Distinguish font character from actual content.
  • Set language and LTR or RTL text direction.
  • Account for the fact that all options can be fine-tuned later.

The palette should support the content

A palette is a set of shared template colors: typically the brand color, text, background, and state elements. Select an option that aligns with your identity while offering sufficient contrast between text and background. Precise shades can be adjusted in Global Styles after generation.

If you have a corporate brand color, specify it briefly in the prompt by picking from the color palette, or choose the closest available palette. AI builds a unified foundation, not a final graphic manual.

Font, language, and text direction are distinct settings

The typographic selection defines the character and baseline font pairing for body text and headings. The language indicates the context in which the sample preview should be prepared. Text direction determines the interface flow: LTR means left-to-right, for languages like English; RTL means right-to-left, for languages like Arabic or Hebrew.

Selecting a language will not automatically generate translations of actual Joomla content. Similarly, choosing a font does not guarantee that every character of the target language is supported. Therefore, it is recommended to inspect headings, body text, and mobile previews with the actual characters you intend to use once completed.

Recommended order of selections

  1. Set the language of the future website.
  2. Choose the text direction. Use LTR for English and most European languages; select RTL only for languages that strictly require it.
  3. Pick a palette that matches your brand identity and intended tone. Prioritize readability over visual flair.
  4. Select a typography variant. For longer content, prefer a clean and easily readable typeface.
  5. After generating, open Global Styles to verify colors, headings, body text, and layout direction across multiple sample pages.

Check the combination, not just isolated samples

A color might look appealing in a palette, but its practical application is what counts. After generation, inspect main body text against the background, inline paragraph links, buttons, and system alert messages. The same applies to typography: a large sample heading won't reveal whether long paragraphs or language-specific diacritics remain legible.

With RTL direction, pay attention not only to text alignment, but also to the order of columns, icons, and control elements. The direction switch establishes default template behavior, but specific third-party modules may require dedicated verification on your live website.

The initial selection is not a binding commitment

AI establishes the initial combination. Inside the editor, you can later modify design tokens, palettes, system or Google fonts, sizes, weights, and LTR/RTL/auto direction. Changes to global values will reflect across the entire template layout.
