I noticed someone else reported this issue back in Dec 2014 - because it's so long ago, I thought it best to open a new thread.

In various places, virtuemart displays a key instead of a localized string. For example, visit the test site below, and follow these instructions.

Do not log in or register.
Browse to the online store.
Add a product to your cart.

Note that the mini cart display in the top right shows COM_VIRTUEMART_SHOW_CART rather than "Show Cart"

Refreshing the page causes the string to be displayed normally.

You suggested to the previous poster that this is due to the Virtuemart language files being out of date.

As far as I am aware, my installation is completely up to date. But exactly how do I ensure that I have the latest and greatest version of Virtuemart language files?

    Thank you so much, that did the trick... Definitely getting closer to launch!

    While you're on, perhaps you can help me with another issue with the mini-cart. When you add a product to the cart, and toggle down the mini-cart module, the product thumbnail displays as a ? (image missing).

    Can you assist?

    Go to Virtuemart configuration > "Checkout" tab > check "Show mini thumbnails of the products in the cart"

    Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't see the option your describing (see attached screenshot). My version of Virtuemart is 3.0.16.

    I've tried 3 times now to upload the screen shot showing my options. It appears to work, but the system shows a broken link to the picture and the content to be unavailable.

    The message also says 'Try again later'. Is this perhaps a moderation issue and the uploaded image requires approval before being displayed?
