Flexslider position and size Issue

I downloaded this template: and I can't figute out how to put the slideshow at the side, on top of the content of the page sized only part of the width of the page exactly as it is on the demo template.
Putting the flexslider on position-12 would not work.

Is it possible to have more than 3 slides on the flexslider?

Best regards ,

I realized I have to put something on position-6 on order for the slider to show up next to it. And I have to put something position-3 if I want to the content on maintop and main positions to be seen.

I still wonder if I could put more than 3 images. Which file do I have to modify?

    Best regards
